I took these pictures this morning. I see this on my drive to Colorado Springs. It is a town about 40 miles south of my house. I have a customer who is located right at the foot of this peak. I love this view on my way down there.

Only in Colorado can you wake up to 2 inches of snow in the morning, and by your afternoon drive home have to have the A/C on in the car.

Here is how our day went, like you could give a shit anyway. We got up early and Cori and Drew found some eggs and their baskets. I made us a big breakfast and it was great. Then we had to run to the store for a few things. When we got back we went to some friends house where we sat around and played Texas hold em poker all day. That is how our day went.

I took this picture last month in California at the beach in Santa Barbara. This was made by a homeless Vietnam Vet. It was his way of saying thanks to the troops serving in combat today.

Did you see those losers burning a likeness of a US soldier in uniform the other day? They call their self peace lovers? Anti war? Anti violence?

There were about 40 of them, too chicken shit to even show their face. They hid behind a mask just like the guys who cut off the heads of Americans in Iraq.

These are some pictures of snow in Denver. Hey mom, what year are these cars?, and how many did you own just like them? As a kid we would see an old car and ask my mom, "What kind of car is that"? She would always tell us, then she would tell us about the time she had one just like it!!! Sometimes she would even tell us what color it was, and how much she paid for it. I'll never forget that about my mom.

When we would make a long trip in a car I would hate it, and my mom and I would look for wind mills. When you would see one you could lightly punch the other person, kind of like the game "slug bug" when you see a VW car. To this day when I see a wind mill, I punch myself in the leg and say "wind mill". I'm sure I always will too. Cori and I play the game too. Our game in the car is called "cop chop". When you see a cop car you say "cop chop" and give the other person a chop on the arm.

Super Dave Osborn got nothing on me and Cori. This is us on New Years day 2007. Yeah my crash did hurt. I think it hurt more than what the photo looks like it did. But I was okay. We had a blast and we rode our sled till the sun went down. I would have had less of a headache if I would have just drunk a bottle of whiskey the night before.

You are only as old as you feel or act. On this day I felt like I was 8 years old. I had a blast just being a kid again. Live your life the best you can, and have FUN. Enjoy life, you only get one.

I made a sales trip to Wyoming this week. 1250 miles round trip. Day 1 I went to Gillette. Nice town. Gillette is the coal mine capitol of the world. Above is a couple of pictures of the smallest mine up there. Day 2 I drive to Rock Springs, not a bad drive. Day 3 is where things get good. I leave Rock Springs just before 9:00 am. I'm on I-80 going east, not a bad drive until I get to Laramie. It starts snowing like crazy and there is 50 mph cross wind. At times I can only see about 50 feet other times it goes to complete "white out". I make it to Cheyenne at about noon. I should go find a hotel and spend the night, but do I? NO!!!! Thanks to my brother Henry and "The Big Wheel incident" which is a whole other story, I DON"T HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE.

So I start south on I-25. The radio said the highway is going to close at any time. I keep going. I get to about 1/2 mile short of the exit I want to take and traffic comes to a dead stop. I sat in the same spot and did not move an inch for 2 hours. I was getting worried as I listened to the radio some people were calling in and had not moved in 4 hours.

Well traffic started moving and I got to my exit. I was going 10 mph and glad to be moving. I still had a 2 hour ride to get home. I saw so many cars and trucks in the ditches and road side abandoned that I quit counting.

I made it home. The official snow fall total in Parker is 37"

Today my wife woke up at "zero dark thirty" to go shoping. Atta girl!!! I was gona sleep in, get up late and meet her out there. One problem, I drank too much wine last night. I fell asleep just fine but 3 hours later I woke up and could not fall back asleep. SHIT!!! Well I'm up at "zero dark thirty" as well. But I aint going to go shoping.

She found and bought exactly what she set out to do, and did not spend a lot of money doing it. Atta girl!

I did get a new camera today, so expect to see lots of my photos on here in the near future.

Do you remember Sept 15th, 2001? I do. It was just a few days after 9/11. You could not get your hands on an American flag. Wal Mart was sold out. 2 weeks or so after 9/11 every house on my block had a flag on it. I had one on my house before 9/11. The American public was pissed off! Ready to go out and kick the shit out of anybody we could get our hands on. We were proud to be American!!!!

Today on my block my house is the only one with a flag on it. As I drove out of my sub-division I pass at least 75 houses before I get out on the main street. I only saw one other flag. This makes me sad. Most Americans have a short memory.

A short memory, how sad is that? We want results today, right this moment. We have high speed internet, high power micro wave ovens, light rail, live news coverage from the war, etc etc etc.

So now 5 years after 9/11 people have forgot how bad we felt that day.

Why???? Don't give me this......well Bush this Bush that, republicans this and that, or the economy this or that. I think that those are a bunch of easy out, bullshit excuses!!!

Why have most people forgot?

I am the only veteran on my block, the only guy with a flag on his house. Why?

I know that on the night of Sept 11th I wanted somebody to hang for that shit. I said that we should never let this happen again. Hit em before they hit us! Wait for that "smoking gun, and you will be dead"

This year I am going to have a nice quiet Tanksgiving. Just me, my wife and my 2 kids. No body else for the first time in the last 10 years!!!! But I am thankful. That is what is is all about. It's not about a bunch of family members who don't even like each other to get together and put a fake happy face on, or even worse ignore other members. It it about being thankful for what we have, who we are, and where we live. I'm not mad at anybody or anything so don't read anything into this.

It is my opinion that if you go out and get drunk, drive, run a red light, and kill 3 people. They should lock your ass in jail for the rest of your life!!!!
That happened here in Denver over the weekend. The guy did not even hit the brakes or stop. He went home and tried to hide the truck. He ran over 4 people in a crosswalk at 50 mph. 3 of them died. Two little kids and their mother. The dad lived and should be out of the hospital today.
Just think how bad the rest of his life is going to be.
The cops who were there said it was so bad that many of them are seeking mental help now. These are veteran officers who have seen it all, it must have been bad.

I pray for the family, especialy the father. May you find relief in your heart some how.

Hey guys, I've been MIA the last month. Here is why, I got lazy!!! I have not been posting anything. I've been on my blog. I've been on James blog.
So I am going to drop and give you 20!!!!!

For those of you who have wondered about my mom here is an update.
She has lung cancer as most of you know by now. She is doing okay right now but the clock is ticking. My brother Henry is in Texas right now visiting with her. My sister Kae and my nephew James were there last week.

I have to get back down there soon, I'm thinking about the first week in December.

I promise all of you I am going to get back on here and start posting again daily!

Update on what's going on

Last night I found out my mom has stage 3b lung cancer. I got to tell you I cried my eyes out. I don't even know what to do with myself right now. I am hurting real bad inside my hart right now. Her cancer is to the point that radiation and surgery would do no good. So now what? I just want them to make her as comfortable as possible.

I went on a long walk by myself last night and did some thinking. I thought about the good times as we were growing up. There was a awesome sunset, and I just stood there looking at it and I cried.

Why? She is still alive right now. I still have time to see her. I may not have as much time as I want but we still have some time. So what I am going to do is try to get down to Texas as much as a can in the next few months.

2006 has been a year up highs and lows. Here is a list

Jan 3rd, I was broadside by a milk truck that ran a red light. I spent the next 2 months in physical therapy. (LOW)

March 9th, My son Drew was born healthy. (HIGH)

April 20th I went to Arizona to visit my brother and his girlfriend. Fishing, Golf, and NASCAR. (HIGH)

April 23rd I noticed that I actually recorded over my sons birth on a camcorder tape. (LOW)

My daughter played softball all summer long. (HIGH)

I played softball all summer long. (HIGH)

My brother in Law Erik crashed his ATV and got hurt real bad. (LOW)

My mom and dad were planning a trip to Denver to see us (HIGH)

My mom got sick and had to cancel their trip. (LOW)

My mom was admitted to the hospital for several days with fluid on the lungs. (LOW)

My mom was told she had cancer, but we don't know how bad. (LOW)

My family and I went to Texas to see my mom and dad. (HIGH AND LOW)

I have been so stressed out I am making myself sick. (LOW)

My mom now has level 3b lung cancer. (LOW)

You see where this is going? I do, I'm due for a (HIGH) So is my mom!
I have to look on the bright side, something good is due next, right?

I found out today that my mom has lung cancer. I feel like somebody just kicked me in the gut. How do you deal with this? I called my mom and we talked about it. I cried, she cried, we cried together. I live 800 miles away and I feel so helpless. I wish I could be there to help them out some how. How does she deal with this? How does my dad deal with it? They are everything to each other.

As some of you know my mom has been in the hospital. She is doing much better tonight. She is at my sisters house and out of the hospital. They took 2-1/2 liters of fluid out of her chest cavity. That was so much that her right lung collapsed. I'm going to Texas next week to see her.

A sad day in Denver

This afternoon a man killed his 5 year old son and then killed himself. He had taken his son away frim his mother yesterday after they got into a fight. Then he did this. I just don't get it. How can somebody do that to their own kid?

All I can say is that I feel very sad today, and when I get home I'm going to give my 2 kids lots of hugs and kisses!!!!

Last night I played 9 holes after work. It was the first time I used my new Taylor Made R580XD 450cc driver. I had one drive 280-285 yrds. The best drive of the night was exactly 301 yrds.

NHRA Drag Racing

This weekend I went to the "Mile High Nationals. Air temp at 3:00 pm, 105. Track temp 150+. I was a guest of Gates Rubber Co, and the US Army. The first picture here is from the back of the US Army top fuel car pit. That's "The Sarge" himself packing his chute.
The next picture is a funny car doing a burn out.
The 3rd picture is of the Army team doing a test run of the engine. Notice the guys wearing gas masks? That's because nitromethane burns like tear gas!!!! Also notice the tables on the right side of the picture. That is where we sat and ate steak for lunch and watched the guys work on the car. We were under a big tent with fans blowing air on us and all the water and pop we wanted to drink for free. The next picture was of the back of the pit.
The last picture is my favorite. That is of me and "The Sarge". He is the driver of the Army car. His best run on Sunday was just over 323 mph. He was such a nice guy. He signed anything we asked of him and took pictures with us too. Some drivers are real jerks, not The Sarge, he was first class all the way. I will be a fan for life. Here is a picture of me on the 15th hole at Box Elder GC on the 4th of July. The second picture is a set of clubs that got destroyed in the back of a friends truck. The guy who used to own these clubs threw a cigarette out of the window and it went into the back of the pick up truck. It must have smoldered on a towel ore something. By the time the figured out what was going on flames were 10 feet high. The golf bag that these were in is gone, completely burnt away. I see signs on the highway that read "Cigarettes are a fire hazard". I do believe it is true. Note the burnt golf balls in the picture.

I did in fact play golf today. On the 17th hole, a par 4. I hit a 298 yard drive then followed it up with a pitch shot 6 feet from the hole. I went up and drained that put!!!! BIRDIE!!!!!! The rest of the round was kind of ugly but my brother in law Robert and I won. It was our cart score vs our partners cart score.

When my wife gets around to putting some pictures on the computer from my digital camera, I will show you why you NEVER throw a lit cigarette out of the truck window.

Cori's 7th birthday

These are pictures from Cori's 7th birthday. We had a party at the park and the kids had a great time. That night I took Cori and her cousin Tyler to Six Flags. Wonder Woman and I were going to leave together in her invisible jet, but my wife wouldn't let her have me. Thanks Natalie!!! She would have hurt me anyway. Cori Tyler and I rode the Tower of Doom, TWICE!!! It is a free fall ride where it takes you up in the air and free fall for about 6 seconds. It is a blast!!! We all had a great day. We stayed until the park closed. Next year Cori wants me to take her sky diving. She is on her own there.

We won both games in our double header this week. We destroyed both teams that we played. We are now 7-1. Next week we seek revenge on the Crush. They beat us by one run. We need the win. Keep sending us good vibes, next Tuesday for sure!!!!

Golf with HBZ

Okay, sorry folks I have been UA for a while. Here is what is new. My brother Henry, we will call him HBZ, was here last week. That's right we played a lot of golf! These pictures were taken last Friday at Perry Park County Club here in Colorado.

We had a great visit. HBZ has not been here in years and I know he had a great time. As for me not posting on the blog, give me a break it's summer time! Tomorrow night we have a double header softball game. So until my next post, just DROP AND GIVE ME 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're back

We are back. We had a bad trip. My mother in law's truck had to have the tranny in their truck rebuilt that cost them $2500. When we were camping her ATV lost it's brakes and that took her out of the game for the weekend. Mt brother in law Eric's ATV was broke down when they got to camp. They spent 7 hours working on it the first day. The next day he wrecked his ATV, BAD< AND I DO MEAN BAD!!!!! It was the worst wreck I have ever seen. He broke his shoulder, his collar bone, and his wrist in 3 places. We were 12 miles from camp in the middle of no where. No cell service where we were. It was a 3 hour medi-vac mission to get him out.

Oh yeah our softball team is 5-0. This weeks score, we won 19 to 0.

Last night my softball team played a double header. We won both games and our record is now 4-0. I hit one deep to right last night and as I'm running my butt of heading for third base I hear my 3rd base coach telling me to hold up. But way behind me I hear my brother in law Robert who is coaching 1st base yelling for me to go home. I know I should only listen to the 3rd base coach, but nah not me! I am going for a IN THE PARK HOME RUN!. I slide into home plate feet first, the catcher get the ball in his glove and tags me right in the face. There is a huge cloud of dust from my slide and I cant see anything. The blue yells SAFE!!!!!!! My feet crossed the plate just before the tag.

Pain hurts, but only for a little while. Glory last forever.

I'm going camping this weekend leaving tomorrow night after work. I will post some pics of my trip when I get home.

Here are some pictures of my kids. First off on top is me and "The Drewmeister". Baby boy Drew! That's my boxer Ginger in the photo with us. The table we are sitting at looks great, now anyway. Yesterday my wife Natalie found it at a yard sale, table and four chairs for $25.00 It was in bad shape too. Half green, the other half beige. Well 7 cans of black paint later, and cushions from another set of old patio furniture I had and we have a sweet set up!!! I wish I had taken a picture of it before. Also I had to have some wine tonight, it was 90+ here today and nothing taste better on a hot day than a chilled glass of white. I just noticed something, look at the tan line on my feet, I need to wear my sandals more. That's some funny shit right there, I don't care who you are.

The second picture is my Cori girl!!!! She is a great softball player. Someday I hope she can go to college on a full ride from softball. She is a tomboy thru and thru. That's my fault I should have had a boy first then a girl. She may be a jock boys, but remember one thing, Oliver North's 10 rules for dating my daughter are still in play. You make her cry, I MAKE YOU CRY!!!!!

A wine cave

This a cool picture of a wine cave. I wish this was down in my basement, but no, it is at the O'Shaughnessy Estate Winery in Napa California. All I would need is a glass, a cork screw, a couple dozen hot chicks, and a truck load of cheese. I think I could retire down there if I had that. Oh well, back to reality.

Sorry folks. I have been real busy lately. Cori is playing softball and so have Natalie and I. Cori's team won their game last night. Cori did a great job, and she is one hell of a hiiter!! As for my team we won both of our games so far. I have hit a home run in both games!!!!

Today I took my family and my Nephew Tyler to Six Flags here in Denver. It was a great day. We got to hang out with Taz, Flash Gordon, The Green Lantern, and Scooby Doo. I took the kids on all the roller coasters. My daughter is hooked!!!! Not even 7 years old till next month. She is tall for her age so she was okay to ride all of the coasters but one. We had a great time, but it is getting late as a write this so, I'm taking my butt to bed, goodnight.

A old Marine buddy of mine called today. It was great to talk to him. He is in the Army reserves now and should be promoted to Captain any day now. I give him shit for going into the Army, but hey it's cool, at least he has the guts to wear the uniform. We talked about the days when we were just a couple of privates right out of boot camp. We talked about getting drunk at the e-club and looking to start a fight just for the fun of it, and when nobody would fight us we would kick the shit out of each other just for the fun of it. You know how us jarheads are, just looking for a good time.

We went to STA platoon together, a hard ass platoon of the best of the best from our battalion. We were doing our best to make it in the platoon, nobody just gets in, you have to go through indoc first. We busted our ass and hoped every day we would get the invite to go to sniper school.

We had already made one deployment with our unit before we got to try out for STA. Todd was a machine gunner in the .50 cal platoon, and I was a Dragon gunner. We were good at what we did and our platoons did not want to let us go, but somehow we talked our company Gunny into letting us go for a try out with STA. I was tired of humping that damn Dragon. In case you don't know both of these weapons are heavy. When we had to do our long road marches guess who had to carry the heavy load? I remember watching that old movie "The Green Berets" with John Wayne. John asked this guy if he was a heavy weapons expert and he replied, "Not if I can find a light one"

Todd and I made into the STA platoon. When we talked tonight, we talked about how we used to drink till the sun came up and would not sleep for days and still run PT harder and longer than most Marines could do sober, with 10 hours of sleep. Our chief scout sniper was a hard ass and a former Drill Instructor. I think some times he wanted to see if he could PT us to death. No really, I think he wanted to see if he could break us. If you broke, back to the line company loser!

We talked about all the women we would chase, and those who would chase us. Back then we had six pack abs, and biceps hard as steel. We would PT for hours on end and then spend hours in the weight room. We used to drive 5 hours to go party in Phoenix at the clubs by ASU. We had to fight the girls off, and half the guys too because we were taking their girls.

Then we went to Desert Sheild/Storm.

We got out 3 months after we got home. 4 years in the Corps. Even though we got out, it was the best four years of our life. It taught us things that you just don't learn out here in the civilian world. No matter how bad things get now, it can't be worse than what we went through. Todd and I moved out to Phoenix where we got an apartment with one other guy from our platoon who just got out. I wasn't sober in four months, none of us were. After 3-1/2 months the money ran out and all went our separate ways. I've never seen the guys since. Todd and I still talk. He did a tour in Iraq last year.

I have a bumper sticker on my truck that reads "You can take the man out of the Corps, but you can't take the Corps out of the man". My dad was in the Corps for 30 years, and when he dies I know he will be standing guard duty at the Marine Corps base, Pearly Gates in heaven. Some day I will too. All Marines stand guard in heaven, who else would god trust????

I've been out for almost 15 years now. I have a more important job now, husband, and father to two awesome kids. I have to be here for them and provide for them.

Friday, man I love Friday.

Friday is a greatest day of the week. I work a full day at a normal job then I go to my "fun job". I work as a youth counselor at a recreation center on Friday night. I go in from 6:00 pm to 11:30pm. I am in charge of the gym. So what we do is play basketball, dodge ball, football, etc. Can you believe I get $60.00 just to go goof off in the gym for a few hours? Me neither! We open the rec center to kids ages 9-14, no adults other than the staff. We have a dance room, a concession stand, game room, swimming pool, and my world down in the gym. The kids call me Mr Gym. I do at least one thing the same each week. I call it the "red line fitness challenge" this is where I put the kids through a Marine Corps PT session. The last two kids standing get prizes at the end. One thing is for sure I send the kids home tired. The only bad thing is, 250-300 9-14 year olds can drive a man crazy. The younger kids are okay, but the older kids think they are too cool to be there. As long as we all have fun, and we always do! It is a great night. I like to end my week on a high note and this is just the way.

I'm going to Bass Pro shops on Saturday. They have this big fish tank, it must be 200,000 gallons and full of big fish. I might just get me a pole and do a little fishing there, at least until they call the cops on me.

If you have ever taken your wife to Bass Pro shops for a date and had Dr Pepper and beef jerky for your meal........YOU JUST MIGHT BE A REDNECK.

Here is a picture of my boy Drew when he was about a week old. Future ball player for sure! Well here is where the SNAFU comes in. In case you don' know SNAFU is a military term for "Situation Normal All Fu>>ed Up"

I video taped his birth. From the time about an hour before to well after he was delivered via c-section.

I had the tape in my camcorders and kept adding to it even after we got home. About two weeks ago my daughter Cori had a school play that she was in. So I go to swap out tapes in my camcorders. I pull out the new tape I'm going to use and take the old one out of the camcorders. I have them sitting together on the floor right in front of me. Something must have distracted me or something because I put the tape of his birth back into the camcorders. I had rewound it first so I could not have known which was which.

Then it happens SNAFU!!!! I recorded over his birth with my daughters school play. Well a few weeks go by and I'm in Arizona at my brothers house and I'm going to show it to him and Karen. That's when I noticed it.

So when I get home and back to work on Monday I still have not told my wife, Natalie yet Know I know, you don't have to say it I'm digging a deeper hole. I looked on the internet and called a bunch of video recovery specialist from New Jersey to Los Angeles. Same story at all of them I'm screwed!!!

When I told Natalie, it was bad. She is still upset over the whole thing and pissed off at me. I did not do it on purpose it was a big mistake on my end. I am the one who will have to live with it. Here is the real kicker, I had to have a DVD recorder when he was a week old so I could make DVD copies of his birth for family members. Yeah you guessed it, I never got around to it.

Life has been tough here this week. But long after her anger is gone, my guilt will last.

My family is my life. I have found that friends come and go in this life but your family is your family for life. Now we are not the Brady Bunch or nothing. I have brothers and sisters that we just don't talk, or even care to talk. But then again I have brothers and a sister that are close to me and I love dearly.

Take care of your family's, and do the best you can in this life , because of these two things you only get one.
